As a child, Dr. Patrick Campbell, D.P.M., AACFAS always wanted to attend medical school. He completed his undergraduate work at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and earned his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. After completing his surgery residency at University Hospitals Health System in Richmond Heights, Dr. Campbell founded Wadsworth Foot & Ankle LLC in Wadsworth, Ohio on July 1, 2003. We met with Dr. Campbell recently, and listened as he provided this overview of the services his practice provides;

Wadsworth Foot & Ankle LLC specializes in reconstructive, trauma, and diabetic surgery of the foot and ankle. We treat most conditions that occur below the knee, ranging from nail care to surgical repair of broken ankles and everything in between. We treat non-healing wounds, sports injuries, and a wide range of arthritic conditions affecting the foot and ankle.

Our greatest strength is our ability to provide fast, accurate diagnostics. When patients come to us in pain, I believe they come in for answers as much as for treatment. Through the beauty of today's technology, such as x-rays, ultrasounds, labs, and other tests, we can image the tendons and bones and know exactly what is going on the same day they come in. While most people think ultrasounds are only performed when you are having a baby, the truth of the matter is that ultrasound examinations are reported to be as specific as MRIs at less than 10% of the cost. Not only do ultrasounds save time for the patient, but they enable us to provide them with more accurate answers and begin their treatment sooner.

I see most of my in-patients and perform the majority of my surgeries at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, although I also have privileges at Medina General Hospital, Lodi Community Hospital, and Meridia South Pointe Hospital. I perform a lot of consultations at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital where I see injured toe nails, foot and ankle fractures, and tendon ruptures. Our location is directly across the street from the hospital, which allows me to respond quickly whenever an emergency room doctor calls.

Wadsworth Foot & Ankle LLC also offers ten brands and over ninety-five different styles of diabetic shoes for men and women. These shoes are wider and deeper with inserts that protect the bottom of the feet. If you are on Medicare you may qualify for Diabetic Shoes at little cost to you. Some private pay insurances cover diabetic shoes as well.

Growing up in a small farm community, I learned to appreciate a slower-paced lifestyle and have since endeavored to bring this feeling to my practice. I limit the number of patients I see each week and focus on providing each of them with the time and care they need and deserve. I respect my patients' time, am rarely late for an appointment, and strive to provide them with the finest care possible.
