Jackie Wayda began her interest in massage therapy after having some of her own back issues relieved through massage in the late 1980s. She was inspired by the concept of working with people in a way that makes them feel good and relieves their tension and pain in the process. She received her Certification as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in 1994 and opened her own practice in Hinckley, Ohio in the same year.

All of us accumulate patterns of compensation while our bodies are trying to keep us balanced with gravity throughout our lives. If left untreated, those imbalances in our muscle and fascia/connective tissue accumulate over the years leading to stress on our structure and a decrease in mobility (which later in life can manifest as back and neck pain). The lumbar and cervical areas are very mobile with lots of muscle groups influencing their positions leaving them more susceptible to pain, injury, and even chronic pain.
