A Place of Infinite Possibilities - Serving Medina, Ohio: In the spring of 2003 Karen Burke purchased a pregnant, female alpaca named Kellie. Without the land and facilities needed to house and care for Kellie, Karen had her boarded for a couple years at another farm during which time Kellie gave birth to two beautiful little crias (baby alpacas). Karen found, purchased, and began renovating a property in Westfield Township, and in September 2005 her small herd of alpacas moved to their permanent home. Alpacas are known for their remarkable fleece which makes wonderful fiber and yarn, and over the next couple years Karen became very involved in exploring the joys of fiber arts. An Intimate Gift Shop with Style and Personality - Serving Medina, Ohio: In 1845 Creston, OH became home to a farmhouse constructed on a 150 acre plot of ground. The little boy who grew up there, Martin Cole, inherited the homestead and in 1908 encased the original structure in brick. The home became known as the Cole Mansion and gained notoriety as one of the area's leading tobacco farms. Martin's wife passed away in 1924 and in the mid-1930s Martin sold the property which would then become the Shady Rest Nursing Home. Shady Rest continued to serve the local community through the mid 1970s when it was purchased by a minister and his family who converted the nursing home into a chapel. Sometime later the property was sold again, this time being reinvented as a bed and breakfast inn. - read more...

It's a Happy Place - Serving Medina, Ohio: For many years Carol and Ed Pamer raised their own beef and pork on their farm in Seville, OH. After selling their animals, Ed began to fill the barn with antique automobiles. When he mentioned that he was thinking of building another barn to hold even more cars, Carol asked if she might also have a barn to house the herbs and flowers she wanted to grow. After Carol designed a small 20 foot by 20 foot barn, Ed suggested making it a bit bigger so they could use it for other things, too. Well, the "little barn" ended up being 40 feet wide and 60 feet long with a 100 foot wrap-around porch! The barn was completed in October 1999, and a Halloween party for 80 people was scheduled to christen the barn. - read more...

Your One-Stop-Shop for All Your Landscape Needs - Serving Medina, Ohio: After working for two years helping a gentleman start a landscape supply company in Westlake, Bill Lattner came across a piece of property in Brunswick that needed a new lease on life. After Bill cleaned up the property and made a few improvements, in May 1992 it became the location for what would become Earth Plus, Inc. Bill would take a load of mulch and topsoil on consignment. With little more than a pickup truck and a shovel, he would deliver it to his customers by the yard or half yard, and unload it by hand. As he collected from each customer, he would pay his supplier for the previous load and pick up another. Before long, he was purchasing larger loads in advance and clearing the property of trees to make more room. Today Earth Plus, Inc. has grown to five trucks, four drivers, five office personal, and Bill working in the yard handling the loading.
